Sapnap from the West Empire as a the royal family, is to take up the throne as the former emperor's eldest son. Then the festival for when the empire was founded opened up Sapnap's new light. Karl a mere commoner attending the festival ends up meeting Sapnap. The two end up falling in love.
Sapnap suggests that Karl works for the empire so they can see each other often as his personal knight. Karl is then sent out for war, he comes back safely winning the war. Then the Duke Theo Hansen catches them. Duke orders an assassin to kill the crown princes personal knight, thinking it's better for the empire.
