The monster in the attic

It was late. I couldn't sleep. I rolled over to check my clock, though the red numbers blurred together. I think it was 5 a clock but I really can't tell. I hear creaking from the attic. I assume it's the house setting. I mean that's all it could be, right? Right. It was nothing. I turn to lay on my back staring up though i could see nothing. I turn my light on and look out the window seeing my neighbor sneak in. I haven't lived here for more than a month but I feel like I should at least know his name. I've heard it- something with a C I think Carol but who knows. He saw my light on and walks to my window. knocking softly-
