Lisa Haydon has been a private investigator since the ripe age of twenty-two, taken in by the head of the most powerful private investigation firms in Toronto - Hunter Simmons. Until the age of thirty, she had been partnered with David Maddox; being four years her senior and having more experience in the field, he looked out for her in what had been considered a male's world, and became her close friend and confidant. After eight years of being partners, however, David left the firm without any explanation. It wasn't until just recently when David sent Lisa a long overdue message, asking to meet at their favourite coffee shop so he could explain himself to the one person who had his back through everything, and anything.
