There is more to life than having a husband and for me; it was to be better than my brother. In my own way, I was just as good as him and although it never bothered me before, as I grew past what society considered to be the 'eligible' age for marriage I now longed for what almost every girl my age had; a husband. Or maybe I was just bored? Maybe I longed for the excitement that came from being married. Life has a funny way of giving us exactly what we need; exactly when we need it.

My brother is a prince. He's a good man. A fair man. And, one day, he'll make for a strong leader. A king. Just like our father once was. In order to ascend to the throne, he must be wed. My mother, the queen, has arranged for three princesses from our neighboring lands to court my brother. They were well educated, polite, dignified. Any one of them would make a fine wife.
