The final book in the Fatal Trilogy. We're done going backward; it's all forward from here. McKayla gets to go home, and it may be for good this time. She finally gets to marry the man of her dreams, and she gets to start her life over. But will everything go as she planned it? What happens when some of the demons of her past come back to haunt her? What happens when she has to go forward with living a normal, human life outside of hospitals and medications? And then, of course, there's always the fear of the cancer coming back. It's come back before; who's to say it won't again? Will all of this break McKayla down, or will it build her back up to who she was before - or better yet, someone greater?

Newly married, McKayla and Chris are still trying to figure out their lives together. McKayla wants many things in life that she feels cancer has taken away from her. Will Chris be able to help her overcome her past and current demons? Or will everything fall apart under the pressure of trying to live another day? Will McKayla get everything she hoped for? Or will Chris want different things? You'll have to read to find out ;)

Chris Cerulli's best female friend has been Melanie Dawson since they were in childhood. They never ever saw themselves as anything more than that. They had an absolutely wonderful friendship together though. After being friends for over twenty-five years, they'd been through pretty much everything together. Chris was even up front with the bridesmaids when Melanie got married. Melanie is a pathologist (a doctor that performs autopsies on dead bodies) and is often busy with her work. Chris is obviously busy with the band too, but he and Melanie still managed to keep their friendship in tact and Chris was even close with Melanie's daughter, Sadie, and friends with Melanie's husband, John. After nearly ten years of marriage, Melanie finds herself divorced from John, and on her own with Sadie. So, whenever he is home from tour, one of Chris' top priorities is to help out Melanie around the house, with her dog, and with Sadie. Sadie and Chris are incredibly close. When Sadie was born, Chris was the first one to hold her after Melanie and John. So having Chris around more often is wonderful for Sadie; mostly because Chris is very understanding of her and incredibly open-minded. Sadie is just a bit...different, and Chris is the perfect example for her to show that being different is an okay and good thing. When tragedy strikes, Chris is immediately there for Melanie and Sadie and instantly knows how to comfort them. With being so close to Melanie this often now, Chris begins to realize that maybe, after all these years, he might have been looking at her the wrong way, and feelings may be starting to develop. Could Melanie be the one for him after all?

Chris wasn't necessarily looking for a relationship when his gorgeous new neighbor moved in across the hall from him, especially considering the fact that she had a boyfriend already. Saanvi had been born and raised in another country, and as hers and Chris's friendship develops, Chris soon learns that the only reason Saanvi is with her boyfriend in the first place is so that when the two of them get married, she can get a green card - not because she actually loves him. So what happens when Chris starts to develop feelings for his new friend, who is engaged to someone else? What about when Saanvi begins to develop feelings for him in return? Now, she's left with an incredibly difficult decision to make - should she marry someone she doesn't love so that she can attain American citizenship? Or should she risk losing it all in order to be with the one that she truly loves?
