Contrary to popular belief, Sirens are not Mermaids. Nor aquatic beings at all. Instead of rubbery gills and glistening scales, Sirens possess large powerful wings and a haunting song. They are tired and rugged, brought back from vengeance and spite. Unlike Mermaids, Sirens are born anytime from twisted and watery deaths. They are born from underwater screams by being shoved overboard. The huskiness in their voice from ocean salt carries into their alluring song even in the afterlife. They're given this second chance once their bodies are thrown in the sea. All because of one pesky goddess.
