Imagine trying to save your adopted sibling from being killed while on a mission with your other siblings helping out around you when suddenly your shot with 4 bullets then your father gives you a serum to save your life enhancing the powers that you were born with as a baby. 
"We gotta get her to father at once," Number 1 said to his other siblings as they all agreed with their leader and eldest sibling. 
But before all this happened we all were happy living a good life with one another Luther,Diego, Allison, Klaus, Five, Ben, Vanya, and I (Jewel) but then all that ended quickly when Five time traveled not listening to our "father" it was before I got the chance to tell him that I loved him. 
"Five wait! Please listen to me," I said to him he looked at me before he spoke "Don't try to stop me Jewel," sighing in disbelief knowing what would happen so I made a choice I used my powers and my 26 year old body laid in my bed while my younger self left a note for our family.

Instead of making her immortal, it made her "stuck" in a way. She simply did not age, she was stuck in the body of her 13-year-old self. She would eventually die as her mind aged, but her appearance would stay the same.
