He wants to save her from what the drugs have turned him into, a monster, an emotionless monster.

"Let me help you Cora," his words echo in the empty alley.
"I do not even know you so get out," her voice was shaking, her body was screaming for something, something she wanted to stay away from. "You need help." Coraline tumbled back a few steps and let herself slide down the cold stone wall "I know".
"I'm here for you, trust me." She nodded weakly and looked up into his eyes, they were empty, there were no emotions to be seen and yet somehow, she trusted him.

He was wearing a blank expression on his face so I guess he didn't really care if I kissed him or not.
