Chronicled from the point of view of its leader, a minor guild becomes trapped in the virtual reality MMO Sword Art Online and is faced with the insurmountable challenge of fighting its way out of the game and into reality. The guild is called The Mayans and consists of four core members: Dakota, Izak, Rianna, and Jada. The four meet many friends and overcome countless challenges while working toward their goal of achieving freedom from the game turned nightmare. Will they all survive the death game, or is their fate to sacrifice themselves in a noble attempt to escape from the clutches of Akihiko Kayaba?
