Aevelia was born without knowing who her parents were. Living with a woman she knew as Aunt, she grew up in Marley in the Eldian Internment zone. Having never known true freedom all she had was her imagination and the story in a book she and her caretaker created in the days of her youth. Then one day an unexpected visitor stops by and her world is rapidly turned upside down. Suddenly fleeing for her life, she must leave everything she knows behind to salvage a life she never knew.
Should she fight for a cause she never believed in or take life and love in her hands placing the full weight of the crown she must now carry on her head before leaving her name engrained in the dust as a soldier splayed out on the altar of conformity sacrificed for a foreign war humanity never asked for. Is it possible to change the coars of fate or will she drown in the tide of someone else's ideals?
