Josie and Hope try to make it work even though more than four hours now separate them. Hope is in college, making herself a new life and new friends. Josie is still in Mystic Falls, she gets a job and rekindles an old friendship. They'll have to learn to grow together, even though they are apart.

Alarics treatment of hope this year is worse to the point where Hope just takes his constant abuse.
