Marinette Dupain-Cheng runs a fashion design/event planning company alongside her best friend, Alya Césaire-Lahiffe, that specializes in wedding outfits and planning (along with other special occasions, of course). She is hired by her cousin, Bridgette, to design a wedding dress along with bridesmaid dresses for her wedding, along with planning.

At the event, one of the bridesmaids storms out due to her and her ex-boyfriend arguing. A few minutes later, all of the guests hear tires squealing and a crash. Marinette and a few other people rush out immediately after, then as they see the bridesmaid's car in a ditch, she calls for an ambulance.

To try and solve the mystery of who tampered with the bridesmaid's car, Marinette teams up with Private Investigator Luka Couffaine in an attempt to find who the perpetrator, or perpetrators, are; and the sparks between them are mutual.

A local reporter, Adrien Agreste, wants to report the strange and unfortunate incident. But under circumstances given by Bridgette's father (and Marinette's uncle), Adrien is not allowed to be near either family- Marinette's or Bridgette's.

In an attempt to investigate and be able to be free for other weddings, Marinette is desperate to have this case solved, so she secretly teams up with Adrien. By protecting her cover with Luka, things seem to be running smoothly, right?

Wrong.
