Izuku first heard this when he was 6 years old. It was a small poem told to him by an older girl he had met one day alone on the swings, crying. His mind didn't quite grasp the poem. But his heart must've agreed to it. He never forgot it. His tiny body hugged the girl to comfort her.
Izuku had a heart of gold.
He thought the heroes would save him. He thought that there was always a little hope.
As time went by his hopes were utterly crushed.
He understood that, if no one came no matter how hopeful you are, then you will have to become that hope.
And he will become that hope.
