16 year-old Hayden Hedlund has a pretty normal life. She's got a lot of friends, she plays soccer, and she has a boyfriend-Ethan Post-who she has been dating since 9th grade.
All of a sudden Hayden's life takes a dramatic turn, when her sister mysteriously disappears, and she gets kicked out of her school and gets sent to a school for delinquents, also known as Huntek High School.
Hayley breaks up with Ethan after her transfer and ignores most of friends. She's left in a strange school with knowing no one but her cousin Taylor. Taylor introduces her to his group of friends and they quickly become her friends too, but with new friends does a new enemy come?
(I know this summary sucks but the book should be at least a little better)

Their mutual dislike of one another leads to a lot of hostility, routinely leading to Jay being sent to his school's principal. One confrontation in particular goes much too far, resulting in Jay's expulsion from school.
