*THE UNEDITED VERSION* Beware of typos, errors, and general mistakes. This is a very, very rough draft. "I live in a place called Compound 4. We are one of ten different compounds placed at strategic locations around the US. It's been thirteen years since the virus overtook humanity, turning about ninety percent of us into zombies. I do know that in order to save what was left of the human race, the president at the time took a bunch of really smart people and kids and relocated them into new 'protected' cities. Once the death toll started to climb, it took less than a day for the world to change forever. The Wildfire Virus. That's the illness the eggheads have called dubbed that has spread alarmingly fast all over the world. No could figure out at first how and where it came from or how even spread so quickly. I was on leave, visiting brother in Boston when the infection hit. Yesterday, the world was normal with its own conflicts. The next, millions get sick, hospitals are overwhelmed, and any sort of space was converted into a makeshift hospital to handle all the sick. On day 2 the sick died and awoke attacking the living. I tried to get out of the city, but the military closed off every major access point and now I'm trapped within, along with millions of undead.
