English is not my first language so please bear with me on the grammatical errors and some typos.
This story is about my nightmare. I'll turn it into a story so there would be character names added that you'll follow the plot easily. This story is purely fictional and is not meant to trigger anyone. Some scenes may not connect due to the fact I am making this based on what I remembered on what happened in my dream. Lastly is that, the chapters are short for I am not really good at making novel like stories so I turned it into a short story style.

an almost decade old story. * "one tragedy changed their lives." a story with dialogues and minimal description, in which a boy ends up in the hospital after a car accident and his friend slowly collapsing under the weight of his tortured mind. but what actually happened that one fateful night and what other secrets will be unraveled? * two main male pov's, recognizable through italics and normal text. a story written unlike any other. i hope you'll find comfort in it just as much as i have. be aware that this is a realistic story. * slow-burn start, but it picks up. don't let the number of chapters fool you; the average reading time for each is less than a minute . i came up with the story of the two friends when i was still quite young and i'm by no means a writer, so it deeply apologize if it sucks ass. feel free to vote and comment or point out any spelling mistakes or confusing paragraphs. it needs some editing and possibly some small changes or added chapters for clarity and better character development, but as for now, this first completed story will do. original story: around 2014. first upload: 2020. re-upload: 2023.Complete

Have you ever walked outside at night? When it's so dark and you can't see a thing at first? I often do that and I'm never afraid. Because I know that after a while my eyes will adjust to the dark and I will be able to make things stand out. I'm always safe. I always know where I am. But not today, it was so dark, all I could see was a suffocating darkness around me. Aria my wolf huffed in annoyance when even she couldn't see a thing or couldn't pick up a scent around us. 'Ophelia, what's happening?' she muttered. 'I don't know' I whispered back aloud. The words had barely left my mouth when I heard something running quickly in our direction. A blank doll with acting and action running in her veins, Freia woke up in a hospital with no memory of what brought her there. Sure, the doctors said a car crash delivered her there, but it didn't feel like it. They said her family's dead but how come Freia didn't feel like that was true? Her very first visitors were her adoptive parents, Fabio and Darlene Hunter. She had four friends that stuck with her ever since she could remember, literally. That is until one who was dear to her was killed, in front of her. Of course, she was devastated. Why would that be a question? One day, Fabio decided to put her into his school filled with students that he specifically chose to be in. When she was finally forced to be in it, she found out things she thought that only existed in books. Powers unknown to the modern world, sheltered children who only knows the world through TV and non-interactive computers. All of the information comes in that school, but never comes out. I gotta say, why would you believe something that was written and altered by humans from outside? Would you even put your trust on the person who doesn't let you out unless he wants you to? Verge of Insanity
My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. I ran as fast as I could go, eyes searching the forest floor for a big stick or something that I could use to defend myself. "Mara Leigh!" the voice came again, this time more insistent. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to prepare myself for whatever was coming.Complete
