17 year old Haru Hinata is starting her first year at the infamous Hope's Peak Academy, the school for students with extraordinary talent that's been newly rebuilt after the tragedy that occurred years prior. She's here to attend this school, a place her brother wasn't able to attend, due to her apparently ultimate skill. All of the other kids had siblings that were apart of the different classes from previous years. You'd expect this class of 15 special students and their fantastic teacher to be at least semi-fine right? Well that couldn't be farther from the truth. There's a mastermind working behind the scenes and a traitor among the group working with them, and their plans are deadly. This school year isn't gonna be very fun at all.

Although he's with kids from school and would most likely get along with them...he feels a strange awkwardness when around them. There's a catch though, Hajime isn't really like the others; he doesn't have an ultimate. Because of that, he thinks the others might look down on him. But there is one student that looks down on him the most, Nagito Komaeda: the ultimate lucky student. He believes since Hajime doesn't have a talent, he's not valid like everyone else and decides to put him down for something he can't control. Hajime just wants to be friends with everyone, but because this inconvenience he's very insecure about being around the others, and distances himself. Then Kazuichi Souda and Chiaki Nanami decide to include him since they feel bad, they just want him to be happy.
