And I swear I saw a twitch in the old man's lips, quite sinister one. It had me latched onto my enemy's hand which I bet that scoundrel Liam was enjoying.

"Don't be afraid, scaredy cat. I am here to protect you."

I scowled at Liam for his comment, amusing him even more. Enjoying my discomfort he turned towards the old man and said what I was dreading at the moment.

"Our car broke down. We need help. Uh- can you let us spend the night here Sir?"

Annoyed by her best guy friend she accepted going to a party with him which leads her into a messy scene that almost causes her life. But what happens when a boy saves her? "Guys, I got another note," I say as I sit down at lunch. Vanessa and Xander were here but Hazel was missing. "Where's Hazel?" I question, eyeing her empty seat. "Out with Adam today, it's Friday," Xander says whilst I munch on my sandwich. "Did you say you got another note?" Okay, so being a detective's assistant isn't as glamorous as it sounds. There's a lot of running, dodging, almost getting cursed, and Liam giving me his signature disappointed dad stare every time I "accidentally" provoke a ghost. (In my defense, it was already mad).
