It had been eighteen years since War-A. Eighteen years since the terror of knowing there were people with inhuman abilities. Eighteen years since the government started recruitment programs for soldiers. Eighteen years since the massacre of all abnormals.

The world had been at peace for eighteen years, moving past the war and forging a grand society in its wake. This society had advanced years beyond that which they had ever hoped.

But the world was never made for peace.

Katarina Hyde lived a normal life before she changed. Her fear of War-A kept her taking her daily vitamin shots, she kept up in university, and her friends were the most important element in her life. After being abandoned by her parents to the government soldiers, she ends up on the run, trying to survive in a world that wants to kill her while figuring out her abilities.

Chase Rivers was in the government training program from a young age, given up by her family because of her rare gifts. Far surpassing her fellow teammates in skill, she is assigned to elite field training on a mission she knows she can complete: infiltrate Kat's group, earn their trust, and lure them back to the institution so they can be put under scientific observation.

The one thing neither of them counted on was each other.
