Pinky and the Brain are in the '80s. Brain struggles with bipolar depression and anxiety. He also seeks to rule the world. It's hard, though, to accomplish much when you're low on money, unhappy, and living in a trashed city with twisted politicians. Pinky works as a clown for a clown temp agency. He loves his job, but things are hard. Pinky struggles with worsening hallucinations and Tourette's. He still tries his hardest to be kind to everyone and smile often. Hamington is a tough town to live in. It's filthy, full of violence, and there's a lack of mental health care. Pinky is 26, and Brain is 49. They are human in this. The movie Joker meets Pinky and the Brain. I'll update tags as I post. Making more mistakes than she thought possible, she attempts to try the waters of living apart from her family for the first time and leaves a series of disasters in her wake. Featuring some fluffy romance, bad humor, and an illegal gay wedding, this book has a lot of lighter themes. However, some darker themes are included. I advise proceeding with caution for those triggered by the following: Violence, gore, rape (not graphic), some slurs (no n-words or the like), prolonged sexual abuse, mental/emotional abuse, physical abuse, prostitution, symptoms of PTSD and themes of depression as well as brief periods of suicidal thoughts and/or actions.
