It's been a real nightmare for Noah Meyer. He was never the biggest thing in school, and never will. He thinks his life will never be the way he wanted it to be. He isn't exactly the most social person in the world, and isn't that popular. But deep inside, he knows he is capable of being what he has always wanted to be. But with today's society, no-one cares about that. You either have to be hot or rich to get people to like you. But not everyone is like that. That's when he meets Melanie Nolan. She knows exactly what Noah feels. They're both awkward, shy, but together, they'll change that around. But with every choice, there's always a big consequence. Both Noah and Melanie hide deep secrets that both of them would like to keep away from each other. But of course, our dark secrets always shed in the light.

As I walk into the school, he spots me and immediately starts talking to me. I brush past him, ignoring him, but today is definitely not my lucky day... He grabs my arm firmly, stopping me, and turns me to face him. The pain on my face contorts his expression. "What's wrong, Emma? Lost your voice, lizard?" I don't look at him; my head is hung low once again. "When I'm talking, you need to look at me!" he shouts, lifting my chin so I have to meet his gaze. I look at him, but it's not with innocence; it's with anger. "Oh, look, Emma's angry, everyone!" he mocks. "Just leave me alone," I say, meeting his eyes as I pull my arm free from his grip and walk away. He stares at me, shocked, as do all the kids around us, not expecting what I just did.
