Eighteen years ago, the Second Death Star was destroyed, and the Empire fell with it. The heroes of the Alliance to Restore the Republic celebrated the victory and set to work writing a new galactic peace into law. But unbeknownst to them all, despite the treaties and promises, the war between good and evil, democracy and dictatorship, was left unfinished -- postponed until an impossible stalemate could be broken.

Now, the New Republic is confident in its security. But as its influence grows, so too does its blindness to a new threat rising from the hidden corners of the Outer Rim, consolidating power under the direction of the elusive Lord Synhaid. The Senate's scattered loyalties need a rallying point before he unleashes his ultimate weapon, but with the galaxy's last Jedi Knight missing and the dark side of her own parentage suddenly public knowledge, Major General Leia Organa and her allies -- Lady Ahsoka Tano, Senator Lux Bonteri, and Sergeant Poe Dameron -- may be the only ones left to stand in Synhaid's way...

Until a Force-sensitive slave girl from Tatooine is found in possession of an artifact of incredible power, with strength of her own to match it -- and even eclipse it entirely.
