Have you ever wondered why Hades seemed so chill? Or why Gaia didn't want to destroy the gods anymore? Why Aphrodite and Hephaestus never got a divorce?

In this retelling of Greek myths, Eden Hills, with some (a lot of) help from Apollo, narrates the (supposedly) true myths in place of the twisted tales you learned in sixth grade.

So buckle your seatbelts, because this is going to be a long ride.

Persephone Incarnate [Wattpad Prize 2014] | βœ”οΈ by wishuponajinni
36 parts Complete
[COMPLETED - ONLY MINORLY EDITED] ******************************************************** Greek myths - true or false? They should be false, and to 16-year-old Sophie Claire, it's never crossed her mind that they aren't. Until one day in History class when her teacher spends a day on Greek mythology and something strange starts happening - her friends and classmates begin to tell myths about certain Greek deities with frightening precision. And for some reason, she's began to feel a certain affinity for Persephone, the Greek maiden who was kidnapped by Hades, the Lord of the Underworld, and forced into a marriage with him. This isn't some coincidence or freak dream, she later finds out from a host of strange individuals who claim they're from Olympus, the grandoise home of the gods themselves. She is actually a modern reincarnation of the goddess Persephone, and she's not the only one. A few of her classmates also happen to represent the gods and goddesses from popular Greek myths, and the fact that all of them are present means that something monumental is about to happen. Something like being the girl to change Persephone's future, to break the cycle of kidnapper and victim - all by passing a trial. It won't be simple, she knows, and she's not quite that eager to take it up, but from the moment she found out that she was Persephone, there was no way to back out. She should've known, however, that dealing with all powerful, immortal deities wasn't going to be easy. They've got a few secrets and personality flaws up their sleeves, and they could be deadly. More than deadly - murderous.

A goddess is taken to the underworld as the king's bride; her father knew everything and her mother knew nothing. In this retelling of the Hymn of Demeter, mother and daughter will do whatever it takes to free themselves, no matter the cost. Book I of The Triple Moons' Chronicles * Up in the sky, in a world between myths and lies, lives a daughter caged on an island. She is Persephone. The beautiful Persephone, whom every Olympian god wants to marry-they all want her beauty to conceal their ugliest secrets, but only Hades manages to take her to his realm. He dwells below the earth, across the river Styx, between Tartarus and the Isle of Blest. No mortals can see his forbidden land until they pass away. Forced into marriage by her father Zeus, Persephone would resign from her fate. But when her grieving mother, Demeter, comes close to killing all the mortals, Zeus orders her back to her homeland. Given and returned against her will, Persephone takes charge of her life and eats six pomegranate seeds before leaving. Food from the underworld can't be eaten as it will tie one to the land. As her decision pushes her closer together and apart from her loved ones, Persephone's destiny turns worse. Only she may have the power to change her world for the better. *** CW: While written in a lyrical style, this story is advised for mature audiences only. Percy Jackson and The Olde Olympus by knowledgechild

16 parts Ongoing Mature

The Moirai smiled, not saying a thing about his thoughts. "Do you accept, Ocean Child?" "Will I be alone in this quest? Will I face my demons alone?" "No" The middle lady said "You shall have company to help, although it will not be the company you expect" Percy frowned, that made sense, but, what kind of company he didn't expect? Maybe gods? Or his parents? "What is your answer, Child?" The smell of old, thread and forgotten got stronger as Percy thought. "I accept this quest" And his vision turned black.
