The year is 2552. The Human-Covenant War is in its final days.
The shady Lykaon Corporation, known as a vital contributor to the war effort, but unknown for its illegal activities, has set about creating a black-ops squad of highly trained killing machines - dubbed 'Project WOLF'. This band of super soldiers are tasked with securing a company asset that has suddenly gone dark. The mission is to be high and tight, nobody can know.
But this 'asset' is also in the path of another undercover squad, Nyx Team - three Spartan III's and a Spartan II with the sole purpose of doing whatever ONI wants of them, no matter the price or consequences.
As tensions rise, and both factions clash in a race against time, something ancient stirs beneath their feet, something that can destroy them all.

This story takes place in the Bungie/343 established Halo Universe. It intermingles, but does not change the canon or continuity of the games or novels.

Ultimately, during the darkness of war, the time for companionship is an afterthought as time passes and chaos continues. Will this unlikely duo that being the legendary Spartan 2 Master Chief and UNSC Commander Miranda Keyes grow closer together against such darkness against the Covenant, or fall victim as many have before them.
