bakugou was taught that the way you give affection is to insult them and put them down. when you like them romantically you punch them. bakugou always thought his mom never loved his dad because she never punched him back. this leads him to become angry and have disrespect towards everyone, especially his mother. his friends had grown tired of his additude and his bull shit when he punches kirishima. they desert him and he doesn't know why. when he goes to deku about it he explains why everything he was taught was wrong and helps him regain their trust. and bakugou may end up with his crush in the end after all.
