"I wish I could say it wasn't possible, that we were going to be safe and there was no reason to be afraid, but I can't. You know I love you more than anything in the whole world, so I'm telling you to have hope and to be brave. It's what he would've wanted."

It was true, it was what he would've wanted. I know because it was the exact thing that he told me before he went away. I could still feel his warm hands on my face and the way he held me close before the Peacekeepers came in to take him. How he promised he would do everything that he could to come back to me, but of course that never happened so here I sat trying my best to be strong.

It took everything in me not to cry, not to fall apart right then and there, but deep down I knew I couldn't. I couldn't keep being a scared little girl, I had to be hopeful that nothing bad would happen, but if something did I had to be brave.

"I know you're right but this feeling never goes away. I feel like I'm being hunted, like my life isn't mine, and I don't know what to do."

"The thing is, it never does." I started, placing my hand on his shoulder, looking deeply into his blue eyes, "the feeling never does go away. But he once told me that being strong isn't not feeling pain, but actually feeling it and having the will to continue living. And I know you, and I know that you are far stronger than I ever could be."
