"She was darkness and death moulded into the perfect form for him. For him. She was the darkness that was unending and unforgiving, unforgotten and unbinding."

Ember Avilon. Warrior of the night. Slaughterer of kingdoms. Her name was known but forgotten. When Hybern fell so did her name, or so every one of Prythian thought.

The uncontrollable rage that takes over when she sees winged Illyrians is next to none. What happens when she feels an undeniable pull to one, and not only an Illyrian but a shadow singer?

But she's not there to make friends - a war is heading. And she's the key to helping them all.

Azriel, the shadow singer, and spymaster has never met anyone like him. Who had to learn to live in the darkness, and maybe he likes that. Or so everyone thinks.

What happens when another shows up, thrown at his High Lord's feet for treason?

And what happens when the two shadow singers find an odd comfort in one another - a comfort that could either bind them together for eternity - or destroy their souls to the darkness that forbids both?

"You will fight to survive Ember. Not for me. Not for this damned court. For you."

"You are every reason, every hope, and dream I've ever had under this nightly sky for someone to be mine. Truly mine."

"I cannot stay away from you."

"I don't know if you've ever loved yourself."

"I killed for you" - "You didn't live for me"

"I saw you walking down those stairs ... and I wanted you so badly, I thought I might set the whole godforsaken world on fire just to have you."

"Everything hurt. Nothing felt...real. It was cold in this dark cell. I had long ago given up screaming for help, or trying to get the door open. The wound in my side would kill me soon. Would anyone come? I didn't know. I didn't care. At least, I didn't care until that door finally opened and a man with wings stepped into my small cell." ****** Adrianna grew up in an Illyrian war camp. Their brutal ways forced her to hide in ways she didn't want to. Then when she was caught teaching herself to fly, she was punished, her wings bound with clamps. Then, her parents presented her with a male that she would marry. He was one of the few considerate Illyrian males in the camp, but when he is suddenly murdered, she is blamed for the heinous crime. Then, she was taken Under the Mountain and forced to fight to the death in a Ring created by the evil Amarantha for the enjoyment of her evil Court. For twenty-two years she remained in a small, dark cell, only leaving to fight or to perform other tasks the evil Fae from Hybern demanded until an Illyrian man came to save her. He was none other than Azriel, the Shadowsinger and the High Lord's Spymaster. Whisked away to the Court of Dreams, her wounds were cared for, her wings... somewhat fixed. Now, she works for High Lord Rhysand as his personal assassin, but when a startling discovery comes around about her past, she must make a decision that could cost her everything. ****I do not own the drawings featured in the cover. Eblis survived years of torment in the hands of Hybern, an enemy continent disrupting the peace of Prythian and the Human Realms below it. She suffered things many wouldn't be able to handle, and lived in the shadow of it's king for five fear-filled centuries. When she gets word that the King of Hybern had been killed, she finally found her chance to escape and return to the Night Court, the last home she ever remembered. The Spymaster of the Night Court returns from Hybern as well, with news of an uprising from the newly anointed Queen and Heiresses. Doubtful of Eblis's true loyalties, he continues to watch Eblis in fear that she'll take the family he had and rip it apart. As he goes, he picks up the pieces of her bloody past and puts them together to form the broken Illyrian female. What he finds, what he discovers, what he feels, is forever disrupted. Gwyneth had always felt connected to her faith, a higher power presiding over her. That faith had shaken that devastating day those years ago, the day that went on to haunt her every nightmare for years to come. She's still trying to come back from it, to not only restore her faith in life and love, but her faith in herself. The sanctity of her spirit- she prayed for resolve. Every punch was a prayer. Every mile was a hymn. Until her knuckles bled and her knees gave. Azriel had been surrounded by darkness his whole life, a poison on his world, on his being. He exercised restraint in his every waking moment, banishing that darkness within himself. Some guessed of the strain it put on him, but no one knew the extent of it, how deep his scars ran. It was better this way, he was sure. He had always thought that if there were a higher power- which he wholly doubted- such deities must loathe him to have burdened him such darkness. He hadn't much faith in the gods anyway, much less faith that he could sway their opinion on him. But Gwyneth and Azriel did have one thing in common: the quiet fight within themselves. They only knew one way: to go about it alone, couldn't fathom letting another in. But there's a magic in finding someone who is your equal but opposite, something transforming. And frankly, Gwyneth and Azriel could both use a little magic. All characters owned by SJM in the ACOTAR series. Story takes place after the events of ACOSF. Aligns with the events in my other fic: A Storm of Flames and Deceit. I haven't finished Crescent City, so this story takes place outside of the events of those books as well. Daemati are feared and coveted throughout Prythian. Seren Marzena is one of the few among their ranks. When her power is revealed to Beron Vanserra, High Lord of the Autumn Court, he is quick to take advantage of her. Beron no longer trusts his eldest son, Eris, believing him to be allied with the Night Court. Beyond that, Beron seeks several dangerous artifacts that are protected by members of the Night Court. He seeks the Dread Trove and the swords created by Nesta Archeron. It is up to Seren to infiltrate the Night Court and learn all that Beron wishes to know. Her task will be harder than it seems. The members of the Night Court are not what she expected and a certain Shadowsinger is always close at hand. Disclaimer: I do not own the ACOTAR series or the characters and places therein. I take credit only for this story and my original characters. This story takes place after A Court of Silver Flames. Some say that everyone's fate is already determined. If that's the case, Estelle Marzena is greatly disappointed with hers. Her greatest dream is to participate in the Illyrian Blood Rite and become a Carynthian warrior, like so many in her family. She has been training for the Rite her entire life, and yet, she continues to be told that she isn't ready. Estelle must find a way to prove her skills to her mentors so that she can prove her skills to the world, and she might have unwittingly stumbled across a way to do that. Being the bastard son of the High Lord of Dawn isn't something Mikael Anik takes lightly. Despite his parents' love and acceptance, Mikael continued to feel the pressure and unease of his people. His birth parents never married and he is a Peregryn halfbreed, the likes of which had never become a High Lord before. Mikael is devoted to proving himself to both his fathers and his people, but can he do that and deal with a surprisingly irritating Shadowsinger at the same time? Disclaimer: I do not own the ACOTAR series or the characters and places therein. I take credit only for this story and my original characters. This story is set several years after A Court of Silver Flames and follows the storyline laid out in my previous fanfictions. This story may not fall in line with the actual storyline once the ACOTAR series is continued and will NOT be updated to match it. Warning: This book, while being a work of fiction, still deals with real elements. There will be chapters dealing with sexual content, depression, gore, PTSD, and other topics which some might find triggering.
