She'd been running her entire life. Now, it might not be enough.
Hounded day and night by unearthly men, Eloise has never stopped running. But now, running is not enough, and she needs protection. A twist of fate places her in the hands of the assassin Arothena, who offers her safety. It seems perfect - apart from one, overwhelming difference between them. Arothena would never run.
The Great, Man-Rellae war has been on the horizon for centuries. Now, anything could set it off. Arothena wants to take down the man behind Eloise's pursuers, to rid the world of any triggers that could cause the descent into fighting. But Eloise will not go with her.
