Set in the same universe as my other Eliot x Reader fic (The Patience Job). It has now been several weeks since Eliot and Reader admitted their feelings to each other and have been exploring the new relationship. When Eliot gets particularly badly hurt on a job, he needs some extended down time to recover at home before heading back out into the field. Reader stays over to help take care of him and in the first test of their new relationship, Eliot begins to feel that his past makes him unworthy of being so happy and tries to push Reader away. Reader isn't about to let that happen.
Somehow I managed to write this whole thing without giving the reader an explicit gender, so feel free to imagine what you like!

Only being called once a month to get injected with some odd stuff. Other than those monthly visits, and some superhuman capabilities, she was a normal girl. She lived with her loving parents and had friends, she went to school and played games with her friends. She had no idea what the bad end of the experiments were like. As they get to know each other and heal, they start to realize there's something meaningful in living itself. There's more than just living. ** I love when characters get hurt or have illness and all that...hehe so there will be a lot of physical, emotional injuries and healing&bonding( right from the start! ).
