Humanity has little faith in religion now days. Those who do believe however, believe that the Gods will punish those who sin, by chaining them to Hell, having them slave away for the Devil to scoff at, whilst they endure their pain for eternity. That's just one of the many depictions. Sinners actually carry out daily tasks, but also reigning havoc. Hell is split into seven different districts: Lust, Envy, Pride, Wrath, Gluttony, Sloth, and Greed. They are ruled by six different Kings; fallen angels.
Each demon is submissive to a specific sin, causing conflict between the six sectors' demons. Despite this liveliness, it becomes rather apparent when the shadow of Lust abandons his people. His silence speaks more than it should. His people are rioting, demanding for their king to return, as they blame different sectors for his disappearance.

Also, credit to @wintershadowassassin. This concept is inspired by the fanfic, "sin of Lust" I think it is called. Check out their account.
