Melinoë, the only living child in the underworld spends a blissful childhood hearing stories of Gods and monsters, stories her father Hades has plucked from the minds of dead men who walk his kingdom. Her mother Persephone is often absent, forced to leave and honour a promise she made only to return in the winter, cold and indifferent to her only daughter. But through the years, she begins to change. Her once luscious black hair is plagued with streaks of white, the weather seems to bow to every move of her fingertips and her nights are filled with monstrous visions of her mother, a man she does not recognise and the pain he caused them both. As the foundations of her existence begin to crumble Melinoë learns a horrifying truth. One which will lead her to Olympus to face the root of her pain and existence. After all, killing a God may drive you to madness.

"Jealous?" "Why would I be?" "Because I know your fantasies." He argued. I leaned closer to him, smelling his overwhelming scent. "And I'm appalled at how they are just that. Fantasies." He smiled and leaned closer, piercing through my eyes with the blue of his. I wanted to grab the dagger beneath my pillow and kill him already. "Are you now?" He answered, coming dangerously close to me. He brought his hand up to lift my chin, our noses touching. Gods, help me. I want nothing to do with this man. I really don't. He hates me, and I hate him. Our banter is not just banter; there's always a sense of truth in between, and that's what makes it all the more addicting. - THE GOD is the master of death and darkness. Lore, previously known as Hades, rarely ever visited the mortal realm. As the gods get involved in a war against the rebellious uprising amongst the dark angels, he must work together with a group of immortals, a ruthless and serpentine assassin being one of them. THE SHADOW is a half-breed. Left destitute at seven and made a killer eleven years later, she leaves destruction and death wherever she walks the mortal realm. Forced into a team unit as punishment for her insolent behavior, she must work with the god she grew to admire and learned to hate. Alliances built on lies and hatred are inevitable to fall. Who will win in this game of the gods? (Modern Retelling of the story of Hades & Persephone)
