One question remains unanswered in the city of Vale-where bliss and pleasure are at the forefront of all inhabitance minds', and riches are eminently easy to come by; What was the cost for the extravagant wealth, and who paid?

Imogen Sallow was born in Vale, but after her mother's death and her father's ill motives taking root like that of a horrid vine, Imogen was forced to live on the outskirts of the city where wealth and fortune do not thrive, and justice is served with a hesitant hand.
Grappling with the bastard who is also her father, Imogen desires a better life, one of freedom and one that does not shackle her to the iron will of witless men. And having already dealt with far too many of those "witless men," Imogen begins to lose hope-but what she does not expect is the one man who steps into her life and proves that perhaps there is some good in them worth digging for.

General Ruairi was not one to hesitate. After years of ruthless training and brutal efficiency being drilled into his mind, Ruairi was ready to set the curse that sent his city to hell straight-whether that meant sacrificing himself, or allowing his body to be a blade that sliced through the curse's surrounding vines. But when one of his soldiers rapes an innocent woman-contrary to the way of the Forge base's law- Ruairi is forced to first aid the victim/woman of his soldier's disgrace, and therefore deal with the aftermath of what comes of it. But what Ruairi soon comes to find out, is that that aftermath turns into something much more, and it will not be so easily discarded.
