What could happen when Hermione Granger goes back to Hogwarts without her bestfriends Harry Potter and Ron Weasley?

Hermione is back at Hogwarts along with Draco Malfoy and some of their batchmates to finish their final year and pass their NEWTS.

Hermione was surprised that Draco seemed to change, he is no longer the boy who taunted, smirked, and bullied other students.

Will they be able to become friends now that they are more matured and have to share the Prefects' Common Room or their rivalry will increase because they both want to become the Number One Student of their year?
