Xie Lian is not sure of many things, but he senses something big is coming when he is casted for the leading role at a play from the famous director Hua Cheng. As a soon-to-be graduate actor, he is thrilled, but couldn't have known that working with the controversial Hua Cheng would prove more interesting, and much more infatuating, than he could ever have guessed.
His best friends Feng Xin and Mu Qing are suspicious of the reason Director Hua casted Xie Lian, while his agent Shi Qingxuan is putting all faith in this project and his (sort of) ex-boyfriend Jun Wu decides to be a nuisance.
Suddenly, although Xie Lian used to feel white, now he is filled by crimson shades, stroke by stroke.

In the morning when a hilarious misunderstanding occurs he convinces his crush to compensate him by marrying him and to his utter disbelief Wei Wuxian agrees, provided that they keep their marriage secret. After receiving the certificate they go their different ways. When Lan Wangji finds out that the Jiangs have not only fired Wei Wuxian but also kicked him out of home, he uses his resources to track his husband and shows up at his door with a pack of beer even though he doesn't drink. What ensues is chaos.
