"You know, this whole thing really could be so much worse." The Prince says, wiping blood from his hands onto a handkerchief that belonged to the Princess in front of him.
"Oh please..." She muttered, drawing the jacket he had handed her closer around her shoulders. "This whole situation would be better if you didn't cause it in the first place. If you hadn't... acted the way you did. We wouldn't be here in the first place!" She says, giving him a stern look.
The Prince smiled slyly, letting out a chuckle that could only be described as dark and bitter. "Oh, Princess, I wouldn't have acted the way I did had I not lost you."
Ameila furrowed her eye brows at her, and let her eyes pierce through him like a silver dagger. "I'm not yours to lose. You are-"
"Insane? Crazy? Derangedm? A mad man?" He laughs, closing the space between the two, his hand snaking its way up to her face, holding her chin and staring back into her eyes, the most confident look on his face.
He stared into her eyes and closed the gap between them, their bodies pushing closer as her back gently collided with the wall behind them. He laughed once more and pressed their foreheads together.
Footsteps and the clanking of metal was heard on the landing above them. More guards. Wonderful.
"Princess, I would kill thousands for you. I would bring down towns, cities, countries, hell... I'd topple empires for you. The only "crazy" thing I have ever done, was let them take you away from me." Kelvin says, drawing his dagger.
"Now you stay here and think on that. Don't move, I'll be back for you." He turns on his heel to go before turning back around. "Princess, I'll always come back for you."

#3 in short story! 3/29/2019 #34 on Royals! 8/20/2019 #8 on heartfelt! I was walking to the grocery store when I thought some one was following me I turned around and saw no one there so I brushed it off by the way my name is Lara and I was being followed by someone my whole life! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I WAS about to turn the corner when someone grabbed me and used their hands to cover mt mouth. I struggled and managed to push the person off and started sprinting down the street, yelling 'HELP'. I turned back to get a glance at the man who attacked me. I saw his face and it was Der!!! "What the hell Derek!"I shouted " I was scared shit-less that it was a kidnapper or murderer or gang member" It was NYC, who knew what happens at night and what kind of dangerous people are out there. "Shh"he said and covered my mouth. I bit his hand and he removed his hand from my mouth. "Ah, what was that for?" he yelled, his eyes getting darker as he pouted and rubbed his hand. "I don't know what you're up to but you're so being dumped"I told him. He was acting crazy and it was driving me insane because he wasn't telling me anything. He growled and ran towards him with his hands out wide to try and grab me, but I turned and kicked him in the leg as he fell to the ground. "Ha take that I took karate" I said proudly as he was groaning. I was a black belt student. I started sprinting when I turned the corner I saw Derek again with his eyes as dark as the night sky. What happened to his blue eyes?! "But you w-we-were- right there and n now you're here what? and w what happened to your eyes?"I kept stuttering. He seemed so brooding and dangerous and he didn't seem like the Der I knew and loved. Before I knew it, darkness succumbed me.

As she unravels the truth behind the prophecy. Iyra faces a choice: confront her destiny and fight for those she loves or risk everything falling apart. *** "We can't be together," I whispered. "No?" he challenged, his hand brushing my waist, a touch so light it made my skin tingle. "Then why haven't you walked away yet?" My hands trembled, and I hated the way my pulse betrayed me, hammering in my chest. "Because I'm not afraid of you," I said, my voice steadier than I felt. He leaned in closer, his lips ghosting over my jaw, his breath warm against my skin. "No, you're not afraid of me," he whispered. "You're afraid of how much you want this." "That's not true," I snapped, shoving him harder this time, creating the space I so desperately needed. He stepped back with infuriating ease, his smile still firmly in place. "Keep lying to yourself, sweetheart". "I'd rather die than accept you as my mate," I shot back, storming past him. He chuckled behind me, his voice smooth and teasing. "Careful, love. You're going to hurt my feelings." I didn't dignify that with a response, but my heart wouldn't stop pounding.

Highest rank #1 in Historical He glared at me with irritation. "Come inside!" ...And I did. He pointed to the stack of books on the floor. "Pick them up and arrange them the way they're supposed to." With trembling hands, I did what he asked quickly. Fret in the way I moved, picking up the books into my arms and lap one by one only for them to fall back on the floor over and over. I was a mess, upset, and it was obvious. This wasn't the kind of first meeting I dreamed of. The second prince was mean, and he was irritable. He had no clue who I am which made me resent it even more. He scowled as he watched me made mistakes after mistakes and after a while, he grew frustrated and bent over, picking the books himself. "Forgive me, I didn't mean to snarl at you the way I did. I'm not used to being distracted. No one ever walks in my office unless they have my permission. I don't even know how the guardsmen let you in." I wanted to say because unlike you, they recognized who I am. But I kept my mouth shut in fear of aggravating his anger. His voice took a lot gentler tone, I imagined he must've realized how upset I was and felt bad about it. I said nothing. When we're done, I rose up to my feet, couldn't wait to get out of this room. This man was so impolite to me that I couldn't wait to get away from him. "I apologize, your highness. I didn't mean to distract you in your private office." I stepped back getting ready to leave when a sliver of sunlight struck highlighting my face. "Wait!" He murmured and I turned back to look at him. "You're beautiful." He said breathlessly. I would have blushed, but he was so mean and rude to me that his compliment lost its impact long ago. "I need to go," I told him. "Wait." A wave of panic rose in the tide of his voice. The prince was afraid to lose me. "What's your name, girl?" He asked quickly. "Jasmine, my name is Jasmine, your highness." "My Jasmine?" He murmured hopeful.

Jasper stiffens in his seat as I press the metal of the blade against his back. "Don't say a word. Come with me, right now." Of course, he doesn't listen. I had hoped a dagger to the kidney would be incentive enough, but even the threat of death doesn't graze a Devereaux ego. He turns toward me to argue, facing away from the goon that's been eyeing him across the bar. I doubt he even noticed. The man whispers something to his sketchy friend, pointing at Jasper. No time for discussion. I grab his arm and press the tip of the knife harder, just barely breaking the skin. He winces, realizing I mean business, and gets up. The idiot prince seems to finally get the memo, running alongside me until we're a safe distance away. "What the hell was that about?" his ragged breaths take the sting out of his words. I've never seen him like this before. Cheeks red, chest heaving, hunched over himself on the stump of a tree. For once, he looks like an authentic person. Of course, this is merely an illusion. Jasper Devereaux is an arrogant, entitled dirtbag, nothing more. I can't believe I just jeopardized my favorite trade spot for him. He demands to know why I pulled a knife on him instead of just telling him he was in danger. I explain to him that the reason for the dagger was glaringly obvious if you consider the way he acted when I did use it. If he was willing to argue with a blade against his skin, there is no way he'd have left that place in good hands if I hadn't forced him to. I can't help but laugh at the audacity of him to be angry with me for how I chose to save his life. "You really haven't changed." His head snaps up at this, and I see his eyes searching my face. Of course he doesn't recognize me. For me, it was super traumatic. For him, it was just another day. "What are you going on about?" "This isn't the kingdom, Jasper, these peasants aren't at your mercy." I see the blood drain from his face, and recognition clicks in his eyes.
