What if things that were never meant to exist, became true?

She ran.
The wind whipped around her, freezing her bare arms and legs, her breath coming out harsh and uneven with the pain her muscles felt.
Yet she ran.
Pausing briefly to take note of what she carried in her arms, silently checking all was well, that her journey had not been for nothing. She breathed out a small sigh of relief, though the tension never left her body. They would be close behind, she could feel the strength leaving her muscles, ridding her mind of any of the enhanced senses she once possessed. She knew she could not stop now, more of them were learning of what she had, and more importantly, what she had failed to do. They would not rest until they took what she tried so hard to protect and yet, she knew she had to keep trying, knowing she would fail.

This is my first book, I will be adding new chapters several times a week and will try and make them quite long.
Please comment on what you like / dislike.
It will be quite a dark story with adult themes and triggering storylines.

The main story won't actually begin for a few chapters , so please keep going. The first few may seem a bit confusing or mysterious at first but all will be made clear, without giving too much away.

I really would like feedback as I write though so please feel free to comment etc on what you are thinking ☺️
