Sixteen year old Katie Maxwell is a new student at Notre Dame Academy, a prestigious, private high school in northern Boston for the kids of elites and socialites. Katie is very different from her peers: her mother is divorced and single, Katie is on a scholarship, and she belongs to the lower-middle income class-a far cry from the young ladies whose parents are millionaires. Katie makes some friends, but finds herself a victim of verbal abuse and bullying. Soon, most of the school is against her, even some of her new friends, and the school administration does nothing about it. Nothing is done until one fateful night that changes everything. That evening would change not only change the community, but also the discourse on school crime and bullying in the country. And One state attorney general is out for accountability-even if it means prosecuting some of Katie's classmates- but could they be victims as well? One thing is for sure: the school, the nation, will not forget what happened to Katie, and what happened to the girls of Notre Dame.
Elliot Jensen and Elliot Fintry have a lot in common. They share the same name, the same house, the same school, oh and they hate each other but, as they will quickly learn, there is a fine line between love and hate.
