Leora, or Lia as most call her, lead an almost normal life. She stayed with her aunt, cooked, cleaned, and on occasion, listened to the rich women's gossip. For the past few years Lia has stayed in the shadows, trying not to cause trouble. That can prove difficult, due to a cousin trying to do the exact opposite.

Lia, and her obnoxious cousin Alice had means to attend an academy. This plan however, was scraped the moment Lia jumped on the wrong train. Torn out of her old life, and shoved into a new she finds herself happier than ever before.

That is until of course, she meets a large black feathered bird. The arrival of this bird, once again, rips Lia from a life and chucks her into a new one. She begins to receive letter, after letter, from a mysterious writer. Unexplainable things begin to happen to this girl, and she's unsure wether to run away from them, or run to them.
