The storyline for the most part remains intact, but is hopefully told much better than it was before.
For context, you - Yes you, reading this - lived through the same life and pathway that Sung Jinwoo did throughout Solo Leveling. Though, one could say that you also live disconnected from that, as your story followed a different path, rather than what occurs in the end of Solo Leveling and the ongoing events of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok.
The way it diverges is that when you had gone back in time to stop the Monarchs a second time, this time way earlier than before, and were informed that because of this, your presence could destabilize the world, you had said your goodbyes, and departed for a new home. There are many 'new homes' for you, and this story tells of your 'evaluation' or 'walkthrough' of Remnant as a potential new home.
Because of your power and abilities, you essentially can freely move between Universes and Multiverses, in search of a place that comforts you for a time or manages to hold your interest.
