Rodrigo began acting in theater productions at Lisa J. Mails Elementary School and Dorothy McElhinney Middle School. She moved from Murrieta to Los Angeles when she landed her role on Bizaardvark. She is of Filipino descent on her father's side.
Rodrigo first appeared onscreen in an Old Navy commercial. Shortly after in 2015, she portrayed the lead role of Grace Thomas in direct-to-video film An American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success. In 2016, Rodrigo was cast as Paige Olvera in the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark, a role she played for three seasons. In February 2019 she was cast in the starring role of Nini Salazar-Roberts on the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which premiered that November. Although Nini has spent much of her free time at her best friend, Kourtney's, house, she never interacted much with Kourtney's younger sister, Gina, who mostly kept to herself. However, when Kourtney's presented with an unfortunate fate, Nini and Gina find themselves bonding over their struggles.
