The Glass Shard

Elayna, a young girl in her early teen years has been through a lot. She has gone through not being wanted and being rejected by others because..well she is an orphan. But luckily for her she isn't alone, she has her twin brother, Lorien. Elayna has always been the quiet one and just wants to read books and manage to make a living to get out of her current life. Lorien is quite the opposite, but ever since they had to move orphanages their new old one has a strange thing about it. The glass shimmers every time Elayna passes it. One day, bored, Lorien makes Elayna explore their new giant orphanage castle and they find a room behind a tied sheet and the room is full of mirrors, all shimmering as Elayna passes. Unknowingly she steps on a mirror and before she realizes it starts cracking and instead of the glass just breaking she falls through it. She fell into a portal.
