Charles and Magnus have been friends for A very long time. Despite this, for most of the time, they have stood in opposition with each other. But when Charles takes a trip to Paris for a conference, Magnus decides to follow after him, worrying for his safety.
Magnus feels vulnerable, reliving memories from when his wife was alive. Charles, being the good friend he is, comforts him. One thing leads to another and they end up staying in a hotel suite together. Will they finally admit their feelings for one another and set aside their differences or will they settle for a game of chess?
