Her glossy eyes meet mine and I tilt my head to the side curiously, wondering what she's thinking about. The silence thickens between us, and so does the tension. The question about my feelings for her goes on while the war between hatred and love rages inside my head. I rest my hands on the porch railing, next to her, and she continues to stare at me with pink cheeks.
Then come the words that stun the both of us.
