Salem Finley has never been good at putting two and two together which unfortunately lands them in many uncomfortable situations. So when Salem gives a cat away to a shelter, under the pretenses that it's a stray, he finds himself placed at the top of Jude Meyes' hit list (which doesn't actually exist, Salem is just dramatic). After taking a minute too long to realize the situation, Salem takes it upon themselves to rescue Jude's cat ... again. Even if it means needing to google how to slap sense into yourself.

Astoria Wendall-Jones is the picture of perfection. A pretty, poised, event planner who specialises in big parties despite having little time for anything resembling a social life for herself. When she inherits The Astoria, the old movie theatre she's named after, she doesn't realise she is inheriting a giant pain in her arse along with it. Thomas "Tommy" Moore is everything she isn't. Carefree and laid back to the point of being horizontal. He is never worried, never in a hurry and never happier than when he is teasing prim and proper Azzy. As they try to agree a plan to revitalise The Astoria, and despite the many obstacles thrown in their path, they find concealed letters that reveal the historic love story that unfolded inside it's walls and in turn discover love can be found in the most unexpected of places. Open Novella Content prompt: 99. It's always what/who you least expected that blows your mind away. Based on the JAM festival prompt: You inherit a movie theatre - or half of one anyway. You share ownership with the nephew of your deceased relative's best friend. Your first "business meeting" is not auspicious but something about this guy makes you want to give him a chance.
