Charlie's brother was basically his son. Leroy was wild and free, much like Charlie, and didn't have a care about the world. Leroy was basically a mini Charlie.
They looked a lot alike. Leroy's eyes were big and bright, and the exact same color as Charlie's. After Charlie adopted Leroy to save him from their father, Charlie struggles to find ways to balance being a big brother/father and his job all at the same time.
