Rise of the Men (Planet of the Apes fanfiction)

All hope seems to be lost for astronaut Col. Taylor when he discovers that this strange new planet the Icarus crash landed onto was Earth, the planet he once called home. He had unknowingly traveled 2,000 years into Earth's future. But as he looked shocked and angered by the remains of the Statue of Liberty, and fell to his knees in disparity, Taylor catches a glimmer of hope for humanity's return to power after being reduced to cattle for the evolved Apes, and hopefully a much brighter future that will hopefully not end in nuclear war.
