With time, they have evolved. But not through natural course. They had an history of meddling with nature and that's what they did. But instead of failed experiments something evolved. It changed the scenario of the world we live in today.

But now they can do nothing about it because the world they created led to destruction and chaos. Now it's bazziare and unique in its own way.
