Luna Dupain-Cheng Agreste has just turned 15 years old and is a rebellious teenager who longs to get away from her parents overprotective ways.
As a teenage girl with three younger siblings, life for Luna has become pretty hectic. In order to get away from all the craziness, Luna often spends time in the forest near her house.
It's the place where her mother first saved her father, and where her father first became a wolf. It's where her family spends the full moon, running freely as a pack. It's her happy place. Luna knows the woods like the back of her hand.
At school, Luna is a loner with only one friend... a boy named August. Unbeknownst to her parents, August knows the family secret. Luna informed him of it when she was 13.
Life is hectic, yet rather repetitive for Luna. Things seem to have the same degree of craziness day after day.
But one day, Luna's repetitive life is thrown into disarray by the arrival of a new student. He's a transfer from America.
As soon as Luna lays eyes on him, her life is turned upside down.
