Book 2 of No strings attached.

Rules. They seemed to follow him everywhere, yet for whatever reason, he could never stick to them. They were there to keep him on a progressive path- a silent guide to depend on when he didn't know which way to go, but listening to them just complicated things.

Was love supposed to be this way? Had he illusioned himself into believing this is how things were supposed to be?

Surely life wasn't meant to be this chaotic. If he'd stuck to playing games none of this would've happened because when it came to wasting time, he was a pro.

But now that he'd fallen, it wouldn't just be himself on the line. If he burned, they all burned. So perhaps he could learn to live by a few terms and conditions. After all, this was nothing new to him.

. . .
The hazel eyed man was becoming tired of this. He'd never once treated this man bad. He'd always tried to be on equal footing with him and make it evident that he didn't look down upon him. But he also had to take into consideration they never met under the right terms.

Hell, their whole relationship had been nothing but pleasure that eventually escalated into selfish wants.

And while he knew this, he didn't care. That was in the past. What mattered now was the present and the unpromised future, but if this man didn't want that with him- he'd make it hell for him to get away.

"You're not going to let me explain what happened?"

The other man sneered disgustedly. "No. We're adults. We have no reason to give explanations to each other. I don't need to hear your reason on why you were doing that just like you don't need to hear my reason on why I want to end this."

"T-that's something you want or are you just pissed?"

"I-it's something I want."

"Well, if that's what you want then I can't change your mind can I?" He asked, taking a step closer and grabbing the younger by his collar, effectively jerking him forward. "If you get what you want, then I want to get something I want as well."

Alex, a new student at Breakworth College studying art, struggles with being on time for class. With a lack of friends and no social groups, he finds himself alone and helpless. One encounter after another with Zack, he finds himself debating whether or not Zack is really homophobic and a downright asshole or is trying to hide something about himself; only time will tell. --- I had two options: Say yes or make this situation worse for myself, Deciding on option two, "Zack, you're acting pretty gay for someone who's homophobic," I said slyly. I knew this could only cause him to get angrier, but I knew it was true he was the one who called me a "fag" not even a week ago. "I'm not gay, unlike you; I just know how to get things I want, and you caught my eye. Being my friend is a blessing. You should take the offer," He said, still against my neck. "Aren't you cocky," I replied, trying to stand my ground. Gripping tighter on my waist, he hummed against my ear once again. "I'm getting impatient, Alex. Cut the crap. Say yes already so we can put this past us. I already know I can get you to say Yes," and in a barely audible voice, I heard him say, "I know your weakness". "Now, what weakness could that be-" I didn't even get to finish my sentence before a set of teeth sank into the sensitive flesh of my neck, sending an unexpected wave of pleasure through me. "W-wait, not there. Fine, fine. I'll be your friend. Just stop that shit." Zack paused, his breath hot against my skin as he chuckled. "That wasn't so hard, was it?" His tone was dripping with satisfaction, revelling in his perceived victory. He pulled back slightly, his eyes locked onto mine with a predatory glint. I tried to steady my breathing, my pulse racing from the conflicting sensations. "What is wrong with you?" I muttered, more to myself than to him. The fear and arousal mingled in a way that left me feeling disoriented and vulnerable.

!!Trigger warning: suicide, Implied/Referenced Self Harm!! Warnings before sections. . This book is currently discontinued, if I find motivation to finish it it is not in the foreseeable future. . "Trust me." His voice was soft and calming, the way that a good father could be assumed to sound. "This isn't what you want, it never has been and it never will be. Confusion is difficult to work through, but if you just let me help you, I can show you that it can be worked through." He rolled up his sleeve, showing several white streaks across his skin. The other was shocked. "N-no, I'm not good for anything, I'm nothing there's nothing for me." He shook his head many times, holding it in his hands after a bit. "No." "Can I touch you?" The boy who was trying to help this poor soul had approached a few paces. His voice was now quieter, more soft, and still caring. The boy at the bridge took a moment to think, then nodded his approval. The savior gently took the boy's hands delicately in his own and gently pulled the boy back. Well, less of a pull and more of a gentle suggestion. It worked and the boy stumbled down off of the edge. The boy started to cry. How could he be so weak that a boy, the same age as him, who seemed to have the same ideas and hatred toward himself as he, could keep him from stepping off? The other simply gently led him to his vehicle and took out a water bottle out of the backseat. The boy took it and looked at it suspiciously. "It's untampered, look, it's still sealed." Upon seeing this, the boy opened it and took a few sips of water. "Thank you. For the water." The savior smiled. "It's nothing much." He shrugged. "Have a phone? If you want I can put my number in and then you'll always be able to tell someone if you're having a pissy day." Surprisingly enough, the boy agreed. . They would both be around twenty.

Growing up in chaos isn't simple for all. Not many could cope. They would struggle and kick, but ultimately drown. However, for Dakota, that was his normality. Torturing. Maiming. Killing. That was his life, the life of a hunter. The Arizona line was elusive, written fame in the lore of hunters, and infamy for their prey. They were the best. No one could ever compare to their skills, their abilities, their ruthlessness. But Dakota was something else. His siblings might have learnt to enjoy the hunt, well most of them anyway, but Dakota didn't. There was always something missing for him, something he was waiting on. Silent and everlasting hope. A promise had been made to him, the day his twin brother was stolen, taken by the enemy, plucked right from the very home the Arizonas had grown up in. A promise of something better, something that he might actually want in his life. Now, almost sixteen years later, something was coming. A change was begging to be found. Maybe it would be for the best. Maybe Dakota would finally find that certain something that had been missing his whole life, something to fill the dark and fractured abyss that ached and wailed within. But nothing was ever that simple. Because, of course, the promise that had been made to Dakota would never be anything plausible for him, anything tangible to have and to hold. He had been promised a new life, by the greatest enemy of them all. It wouldn't be easy. Not with his family still clinging to his heels, the teachings of blood and violence burnt into his mind. No, leaving them behind wouldn't ever be easy. Then again, staying with them would only bring his inevitable death. Why not take the chance to die happy? After all, out of the ashes, a phoenix will rise...
