This is a story about two people who grew up in different places, but somehow meet each other. One falls in love with the other and doesn't tell her. But when she finds out the truth, it changes the whole story. There are some twist and turns but they get there.

A shape-shifter story about evil, heroines, love and magic. The Houses are five branches of shape-shifters, each with their own unique traits and abilities. They live within their own walls, mostly cut off from the harsh world around them. Every generation a new Head of House takes over in each house to look after and govern their people. Now, for the first time in centuries, all five future Heads of House are female. No-one knows what the future will bring, only that the world is about to change forever.

Lyda has been an outcast all her life in Verdallan. While life had never been easy for her following her mother's death, friendships she made a long the way helped her to survive.
